The Savina Museum of Art, previously known as the Savina Gallery from 1996-2001, reopened in 2002. Since the re-opening, the museum has held exhibitions that amalgamate forms with different genres and also various special exhibitions that deal with current issues and lead into artistic discourse. In addition, it has engaged in a practice of selecting competent artists with the potential of becoming part of the Korean art history canon, and holding their solo exhibitions. Exhibitions that represent current trends in the language of contemporary art, or fuse visual art practice with architecture, science and film have become a mainstay of the Sabina Museum of Art. The museum has made a positive influence on the public’s sense of connection to art through various education programs aimed at fostering creativity. With a viewer-centric approach the museum facilitates diverse interpretations of art.
