[Waterscape_Mugaboju(無價寶珠)] - Chang-Ae Song

2017-09-26

Chang-Ae Song is currently holding her solo exhibition at Hwaeomsa in title of ‘Waterscape_Mugaboju(無價寶珠).’ This is a metaphor for the intrinsic value of each of us as we are born. Therefore, her artworks symbolize the primitive nostalgia for human nature that craves the perfectiveness of human beings by expressing water flowers that blossoms in deep oceans. Song’s core idea that passes through the entire artworks is ‘Isugwanji (以水觀之)’, which means ‘Looking at the world through water’ and with this she creates images by directly spraying flowing water to erase and wash the background color. Her waterscape series is a product of intuitive and sensory experience of the origin and nature of life for her, which envisions the prototype of existence through the metaphor of water. The exhibition runs through September 30th.
