[Pink&Blue III] - JeongMee Yoon

JeongMee Yoon is holding an invitation exhibition from Songdo Tribowl with the title of ‘Pink & Blue III’. This title is an extension of ‘Pink & Blue I’ series, which she started in 2005. This is a three part series of images created in order to explore gender stereotypes through the use of color. Yoon took photos of girls with their pink belongings, and boys with their blue belongings, revealing how society pushes color preferences according to gender onto young children through consumer culture. Pink & Blue II is a follow up series of images of the same children four years later. The current series Pink & Blue III, which will be seen for the first time in this exhibition, features new work created ten years after the original series, in 2015. In viewing the time lapse between the three images represented for each subject, we can observe the evolution of these subjects as they change physically and develop new personal preferences in relation to their objects. Yoon’s new work examines her subjects more deeply, after the facade of color fades away. The exhibition will be held from September 12 to September 30, from October 10 to October 15, and from October 24 to November 29. The contents of the exhibition during the period are the same.
